The Heisman Trophy

This year's Heisman Trophy came to visit us at Will's Northwoods during Sunday's Packers game! There have been a number of trophy's we've been lucky enough to have in the bar. The morning after they won the Stanley Cup and made it back to Chicago they came out to party! A few Blackhawks friends of ours John Madden, Kris Versteeg & Adam Burish (Badgers!) came in with the cup and we drank!

Oh Yeah, We're on Facebook!

We decided to market our business on Facebook with a new bar & restaurant page. Please take a moment and "like" the business. So far it's been mildly "liked" which happens often because people are more likely to add "friends" than businesses.
So Will Wheeler has his own page. As you know, Will is the namesake of Will's and his spirit of "Wiscomradery" and a bit more of a rugged Northwoods outdoorsman feeling lends itself to a richer experience!
In both places you'll get up to date bar information and scoops about drink specials, special events like Musky Fest, Packerpalooza and Badger rallies.
Of course, if you want questions asked the easiest/fastest way is to call the bar at (773) 528-4400! I mean... how long do you think Will or the rest of us really spend on Facebook!

Will's 19th Annual Musky Fest / Musky Queen Talent Search

To be eligible to participate in the Will's Musky Queen search, each contestant must serve as a Guest Bartender AT LEAST one Friday or Saturday evening sometime between August 1st and Musky Fest, which will be held on Saturday, September 18th, 2010 (contact the bar to discuss open dates).

As a guest bartender, you will be trained for about 10 minutes by our staff, be paid the normal going rate, (which is next to nothing!), and also receive your appropriate share of the gratuities (which is typically zero). You will also have your picture taken at the helm of our beer-tap spigot, and pictures will be posted in the bar and on our website in order to aid voters in selecting their favorite Musky Queen. This is your opportunity to tell patrons about your candidacy for Musky Queen and gain their support.

If two Musky Queen contestants want to work on the same Friday or Saturday night, that's acceptable. (but only two guest bartenders on one night will be allowed!)

On the day of Musky Fest, Will's patrons will cast their vote using the one-drin/one vote principle, which is a long-standing and widely cherished tradition in Chicago's history. Whoever receives the most votes wins (voting early and voting often is encouraged). Bring a ton of friends and have them vote for you with every drink. The prizes? WELL... The "Winner" will receive a stuffed musky, a free keg party at Will's, a tiara and sash, their name engraved on the All-Time Musky Queen plaque (which forever hangs proudly in the bar), your choice of $250 in cash or accomodations at Aunt Hannah's cabin in Hayward, Wisconsin (complete with outdoor plumbing), some other stuff (probably) and don't forget just the huge honor of being MUSKY QUEEN for a year!

All contestants are REQUIRED to be at MUSKY FEST in order to win. So if you know you won't be availbable on the day of MUSKY FEST (September 19th), please don't sign up to compete.

NOTE: Management reserves the right to suspend, discontinue, abandon, or otherwise terminate this competition or declare any contestant ineligible at any time for lack of interest, inappropriate circumstances, unexpected difficulties or problems, management whim or any other reason of any nature whatsoever. Will's Northwoods Inn's First Post

Howdy! So we're a great little bar that just opened up a kitchen in South Lakeview, Chicago. We're located at 3030 N Racine Ave, on the corner of Racine & Nelson. We're loving the summer heat and everyone seems to really be loving our beer garden! We have cork dart boards and a pool table in the bar. Many people know us as one of the most Badger friendly bars outside of Wisconsin. We do our best to be as inviting as a Northwoods family should be!
This is just our first post, so I'll have to tell you about us in little pieces along the way otherwise it might just be too much to take in at one time... kind of like our Friday Fish Fry.
